Optical system and light distribution

The edge-lit design uses a PMMA light guide plate to spread light uniformly across the full panel surface. Light from the perimeter LEDs travels through the guide plate and exits through micro-structures printed on the plate surface, creating even brightness with no visible hot spots or dark zones. The 120° beam angle covers a broad area without needing multiple overlapping fixtures. A prismatic or frosted diffuser option is available if further softening of the light output is desired.

The 3CCT switch inside the driver lets you set the colour temperature once at installation — warm white for hospitality and residential spaces, neutral white for offices, or cool white for task-oriented environments. All three settings maintain CRI above 80 so colours in the space render naturally without appearing washed out or overly saturated.

DALI dimming and emergency backup

Two functions are integrated into a single driver: DALI-2 dimming and emergency battery backup. The DALI two-wire interface connects directly to any DALI bus — no separate dimmer module or protocol gateway required. Set scenes, schedule on/off times, and group-control panels from a central building management system. The emergency battery activates automatically when mains power fails, maintaining illumination at reduced output for approximately 90 minutes. This satisfies emergency egress requirements without additional wiring, external ballast, or a separate emergency lamp. The dual-function driver keeps the ceiling void clean — only mains and DALI pair wiring needed, no extra components.

Build and installation

The 11mm slim profile fits standard 600 × 600mm T-bar suspended ceiling grids with no modification to the framework. Spring clips on each corner secure the panel from above — install from the ceiling void and clip into place. The aluminum housing resists warping and the PMMA diffuser does not yellow over time. IP42 rating covers indoor environments with moderate dust or occasional splashes, such as offices, corridors, and retail floors. The panel is not rated for wet or outdoor locations. A cut-out of approximately 565 × 565mm is needed for recessed mounting.

Confirm emergency runtime with the supplier. The panel includes a built-in battery, but the exact backup duration depends on battery capacity and load. Ask for the certified runtime at reduced output before specifying for egress compliance — it varies by region and model revision.

Set the DALI address before mounting. Programming the address is much easier at a workbench than on a ladder. Connect the DALI pair, assign the address with a tool or BMS, then clip the panel into the ceiling.

Choose the CCT before installation. The 3CCT switch is inside the driver — you set it once and it stays. If you need different colour temperatures in different zones, order each variant separately rather than trying to adjust after mounting.

Check the cut-out size. The recessed opening should be approximately 565 × 565mm for a clean fit in a standard 600 × 600mm ceiling tile grid.
